I just finished my second day of auditions in Toronto. It’s always great to see people I know and to meet and hear new ones. There were a plethora of wonderful singers who came out — thanks to all of you!
I’ll be in Toronto next week for two days of auditions for my summer opera program, HSOW. I really love hearing auditions — it’s stressful because one has to stay alert and involved, but I really love singers and there are some amazingly good ones out there. I love this part of a project — and the best thing is that I get to cast not one but two operas this year: even though I’m only directing one of them (Giulio Cesare). Can’t wait!
